Over the next two pages you will meet our wonderful peer-to-peer mentors. None of these mentors are trained therapists. They are volunteers who have lived life and want to be there for others and share what they have learned along their journey.
Penny is the CEO and Founder of All4The22. She is also a Gold Star Widow, a proud Army Veterans wife, and is the mother to 6 amazing boys. She loves to make sure people know someone cares. She has been thru life with a mother who was an addict, a father who was emotionally distant, a failed marriage, one that ended in suicide and now is married to her second soulmate she saves as often as he lets her. She understands first hand that often times the dark isn’t easy to share with family and friends because they are causing the dark or that you feel they think your a burden. She also knows that sometimes you have to be your own glitter and shine so that the dark doesn’t win.
US Army Veteran, recovering addict, father to two Gold Star children, survivor of emotional and mental childhood abuse, survivor of suicide attempts, and lives with PTSD and anxiety. My name is Angalene, I am from Pennsylvania. I lost my fiance in 2007 when he was killed in action, making me a wiance and single mom to a gold star child. I am a mom to three kids. I am a work in progress. I live with the belief that your thoughts create your reality. I spent many years defining myself by the loss I have experienced. I lost who I might have been. I have PTSD and anxiety. I am proud of the person I am and the person I am becoming after losing myself for so many years. I love animals and I volunteer for the Animal Care Association twice a week. I find purpose in helping when I can where I can. I spent 7 years as a special needs paraprofessional helping kids with special needs. Because of health reasons I have had to change my career journey. I have always been an avid writer so my focus now is on publishing a book. I spent a long time lost in the wiance and mom roll. It is never to late to decide to be something or someone different. I am proof of this. We all have events we go through in life that help shape who we become. Sometimes it is hard to not get lost in those events and allow them to define us. It is brave and great accomplishment to come through those things with more understanding of who you are and what you can take from it to help others. My goal in being a part of this amazing organization is simple. Be there. Because sometimes we just need someone to be there.
